A Pastoral Presence

My name is Lawrence Manickam. I am a pastoral counselor, writer, and teacher committed to walking with people who are thinking deeply about faith, life, and personal transition. My work is shaped by Scripture, reflection, and lived experience—offered with care, discernment, and respect for the complexity of human stories. I believe meaningful change often begins not with answers, but with attentive listening, honest questions, and a willingness to sit with what is unfolding.

Formation and Grounding

I hold a Master of Arts in Pastoral Counseling from Liberty University and have spent years studying Scripture, theology, and spiritual formation alongside practical engagement with human suffering, faith, and growth. My approach is Christ-centered and Scripture-informed, while remaining attentive to conscience, discernment, and the pace at which transformation truly occurs.

How I Work

Pastoral counseling, as I practice it, is not clinical therapy, diagnosis, or crisis intervention. It is a form of spiritual accompaniment—creating space for reflection, prayer, discernment, and honest conversation in the presence of God. When needs extend beyond pastoral care, I encourage appropriate professional support and referrals. Integrity, clarity, and respect for each person’s well-being guide this work.
